The Celtic tribes were a diverse group of early Indo-European peoples who lived across much of western and central Europe from the Late Bronze Age through the Iron Age (roughly 1200 BCE to the 1st century CE)  They were not a single unified state but a network of tribes connected by a shared language, similar art styles, religious beliefs, and burial customs.
